Weex Ui was open sourced on September 30 last year. It has been exactly half a year since today. This article intends to share the Weex Ui half-year open source road from 5 parts: **origin, positioning, status quo, development, and outlook**.

### Origin of Weex Ui

Weex Ui originated from an internal Weex upper-layer Ui component library. After running for nearly a year, it was organized, optimized, enriched and qualified then open sourced, hoping to leverage the community to let it develop better and serve more developers.

### Positioning of Weex Ui

The positioning of Weex Ui is **a lightweight, highly interactive, high-performance UI component library for Weex**. Components encapsulate native-level optimizations beneath intuitive Vue APIs, seamlessly supporting Weex on iOS, Android, and mobile web. It also serves as a clean, idiomatic reference for developers new to building on Weex.

### Outlook of Weex Ui

- Introduce more **rich interactive** components to make Weex applications More Native
- Continue to **lighten and simplify** Weex Ui, lowering the barrier to entry for non-frontend engineers
- Component **performance continuous optimization**, especially low-end machine performance improvement
- Support component **theme one-click switch**, under implementation
- Collection of usage Demo organization, including tools, media, management, etc.
- Ecological exploration, more Weex peripheral construction
