🦫Mole 1.13.0 is out.

I focused this release on one thing: making every result easier to trust.
Updates now finish only after the app actually changes. Cleanup and uninstall check again before deleting, and system data follows macOS more closely.

Mole CLI can reclaim tens of gigabytes at once, and V1.52 makes cleanup more precise: shared developer folders stay protected while verified old Fusion bundles can go.

It stays free and open source, while Mole Mac brings the same care to a native app.

Mole cleans the junk inside your Mac. It also cleans the outside.

Turn on Clean Screen Input Protection in Settings, then pick Clean Screen from the menu. Every key goes dead, so you can wipe the screen and the keyboard without triggering a thing.

🕳️ Mole for Mac 1.12 is live. mole.fit/

The theme this time: use less of your Mac, and be honest about what it did.

Lighter over days, not minutes. Sampling wakes less often, menu bar CPU stops creeping up, long lists stay smooth.…Show more

Cleanup reaches further: Dia, Zed, stale caches. It marks cloud-synced files, reports the space you actually got back, and never stalls on a stubborn folder. Chat history, local models and active builds stay untouched.

Updates that finish. App Store apps update inside Mole when that's safe, Homebrew shows real progress and survives slow networks, ChatGPT and Chrome hand off to their own updater. When macOS blocks a replacement, the row tells you why and opens the right setting.

Battery Care can top up to 100% on demand, and the card shows live power draw, real health, and whatever is eating the most.

The menu bar runners are redrawn pixel-crisp from the open-source RunCat Neo gallery (thank you, Takuto Nakamura), and every runner's pace tracks real load.

Plus: Celsius by default, an Open Source Licenses panel, SMART failures in the health score, VoiceOver fixes, and no more twin windows on dual-display Macs.

🎃 Kaku v0.18.0, a fast terminal built for AI coding.

Weekend update: you can now pull a tab, and every pane in it, into its own window; windows dragged across displays stay below the menu bar; and menu restarts and Homebrew upgrades ask first.

Also, the installation command might cause your computer to crash or the key to get lost - be careful everyone!

Mole CLI v1.50 is here, named "Honest" 🪞

1. Clean leaves running apps alone and tells you what it left behind.
2. Uninstall finishes instead of exiting silently.
3. Failed installs name the directory at fault and the command that fixes it.…Show more
4. mo status shows purgeable space, the reason Finder and df never agree.

Mole for Mac follows the same rules, rewritten natively in Swift. macOS 14+, one-time purchase, no subscription. The CLI stays free forever. mole.fit/

Found a fun one to poke around in. An absurd amount of US market history in one place: S&P 500, Nasdaq, SOX, XLK, XLF, Magnificent 7, Top 10 concentration, plus valuations and drawdowns. Updated daily. Bookmarked for a quiet weekend.

Kami v1.12 is a quiet one. No new templates, no new looks, just a version you can trust more.

It now plans a document before laying it out, changes only the part you asked to fix and leaves approved pages alone, tells you honestly what it checked and what it skipped…Show more, and never lets a failed build overwrite your last working PDF.

If you’re used to using tmux, you might want to try this new thing, herdr, which is even more friendly to existing AI coding setups. herdr.dev/

A Korean creator built a whole workflow around Mole. Codex runs it every morning at 9am and sends him a cleanup report.

332GB of worktree junk cleared, zero photos touched.

The CLI is free and always will be. If you'd like something more polished with a bit more to it…Show more, there's the Mole Mac app.

ps. the Korean narration is lovely, it sent me right back to the K-dramas I grew up watching 🙏

This Mole CLI release is almost all reliability work, on purpose. Refusals now explain themselves and print the fix. Dry run is fully dry. Stricter cleanup boundaries, hard deadlines on slow scans, Parallels VMs in disk analysis. Safer everywhere.

Someone made a Mole review and it genuinely made my day.

Andy Hutchinson over at Mostly Mac ran the open-source CLI on his M2, cleared ~13GB, and after six months of daily use called it "no subscription, no bloat…Show more, no drama." That means a lot for something I started as a weekend shell script.

Huge thanks, Andy.

If you make Mac content and want to feature Mole, I'd love to help, reach out and I can set you up with license keys to give away to your audience.

I no longer use format conversion tools. I had originally planned to download HandBrake, but on a whim I sent it directly to my agent, and it quickly helped me solve the problem. This shows that in the future AI era, tools like this will actually have less and less of a market.

Mole CLI just passed 60K stars. It started as a few hundred lines of code I wrote by a pool in Sanya last October. Now: 55 releases, 112 contributors, 812 issues resolved. It also grew into Mole Mac…Show more, the pro version with a native GUI and much more. 4 aha moments from using it myself:

1. Got a notification that my AirPods were low on battery. AI suggested it while I was building battery health, and I shipped it. Works for any Bluetooth accessory. Helpful, never noisy.

2. I use Mole daily and it still found 1 TB to clean. Rust target folders add up fast. One scan, gone.

3. Keep Screen On now has 3 modes. Head out on a weekend, your AI coding agent keeps working, you steer it from your phone.

4. Your iPhone battery now shows next to your Mac. All your devices in one quiet dashboard.

None of these were my idea. All came from early users, and now they help me every day. mole.fit/
